ASTM A335 P1

Specification A335 P1 is a seamless ferritic grade Alloy Steel Pipes. This specified ferritic class ASTM A335 gr P1 seamless pipes has been designed for high temperature applications. The EN 1.5415 P1 Steel Pipes material manufactured according to this specification tends to well suited for operations such as bending, flanging i.e. also referred to as vans toning as well as other similar forming operations. Additionally, the ASTM sa 335 gr P1 alloy steel pipes can be used for fusion welding. Since the alloy is occasionally referred to as P Grade, this A335 P1 Chrome Pipe is popular in several industries. This can be seen especially in the power industry as well as in Petro-chemical plants where these ferritic class based ASME SA 335 Grade P1 Alloy Steel Pipes are commonly used  in refineries.

Often, these A335 P1 pipes are known as chrome moly alloy due to the chemical makeup of these pipes including elements such as Molybdenum and Chromium. Molybdenum, when added in the alloy of ASTM A335 P1 Seamless Pipe increases the tensile strength of this chrome moly steel along with improving other properties such as its resistance to wear, elastic limit, impact qualities, and hardenability as well. While the addition of Molybdenum in the alloy of ASTM A335 P1 Pipe increases the metals resistance to softening along with restraining grain growth and making this chromium based steel less susceptible to embrittlement.  Chromium, on the other hand, when added to the seamless pipe P1 metal raises the tensile strength, yield strength, and hardness at room temperatures. Chromium is virtually irreplaceable and is known to be a very constituent of the ASTM a335 gr P1 alloy pipe since, it aids in resistance to oxidation corrosion even at elevated temperatures.
