All Gasket used in Heat Exchangers are called Heat Exchanger Gaskets. The type of Gaskets used depends upon the operating conditions of the exchanger. Heat Exchanger gaskets can come in different types like Double Jacketed, Single Jacketed, Solid Metal, Solid Corrugated Metal Jacketed, Kammprofile or Spiral Wound. Soft compressible material can also be used, like Rubber, PTFE or Non-Asbestos Compressed sheet type. Double Jacketed Gaskets are the most popular Heat Exchanger Gaskets.

Single Jacketed Gaskets The filler material is enclosed in a metal jacket which covers the inside and outside diameter of the gasket.

Double Jacketed Gaskets The filler material is completely enclosed by a two piece metal jacket, which covers both the inside and outside diameters and both contact surfaces. Double Jacketed Gasket can be with or without Corrugation

Kammprofile Gaskets The Kammprofile is the multi seal Gasket ( Every groove will act as separate seal ). It is a preferred gasket when needing improved performance at low seating stresses. It features excellent anti-blowout properties associated with the reliability of a solid seal combined with soft sealing face to ensure a tighter joint. Kammprofile is an ideal replacement for problem applications associated with all Heat Exchanger Gaskets.

Solid Metal Gaskets Solid Metals are used directly without any soft filler as gaskets. The temperature limitation of the gasket is therefore only effected by the metal selected.

Sprial wound Gaskets Spiral Wound Gaskets are used in Heat Exchangers in three types. Gasket with Inner and outer ring, Gasket with Inner Ring with or without Outer Nose, Gasket with only Outer Nose. Most commonly used are Gaskets with Inner Ring and Outer Nose. If partitions are required Jacketed Ribs are attached to the Inner Ring.
